Description
Manuel Antonio National Park, on Costa Rica's central Pacific coast, encompasses rugged rainforest, white-sand beaches and coral reefs. It's renowned for its vast diversity of tropical plants and wildlife such as these white-throated capuchin monkeys. Unfortunately, they have learned that tourists mean food and thus have lost much of their fear of man. They frequent the area along the beach, hopping to steal or find food left by the many visitors to this beautiful tropical beach. This particular monkey appears to have posed for this portrait, showing off his long tail. :) He is actually eating a parcel of scavenged food while warily keeping an eye on the other monkeys around him that may be trying to steal his food.
