Description
The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera and is comprised of the five villages of Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A popular way to enjoy Cinque Terre is to hike the walking path connecting each of the five towns. For centuries, the paths of the Cinque Terre have been the only connection between the villages. While today one can also travel between the villages by train or boat, the various walking trails provide one of the most rewarding ways to enjoy Italy’s spectacular coastline.
