Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, is a port renowned for shipbuilding and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since 1917, The Dory Shop of Lunenburg has been building traditional Banks dories and other fine wooden craft for fishermen and recreational boaters alike. Completed boats are stored along the dock just beyond the shop. These boats are still built using traditional methods and materials and have timeless appeal due to the fact that they are strong, durable, seaworthy, and beautiful in their simplicity.

About Carolyn Derstine
Nature has always played a significant role in my life. On walks with my dad when I was a child, I was taught to notice the world around me and appreciate the wonder of nature and all of God's creation. To this day, being out in nature is balm for my soul and necessary for my well-being. When I took up photography, I suddenly had a way to express my joy in nature by preserving the wonder I see, and then being able to share it with others.
