Artist's Description
This chapel on Bluff Point overlooking Keuka Lake, one of New York's finger lakes, is an architectural and spiritual beauty. It was created in 1931 by Paul and Evelyn Garrett so that they could honor their son Charles' dying wish "to go home to Bluff Point." Charles Garrett passed away in 1929 at the age of 26 from tuberculosis. Paul and Evelyn Garrett managed Garrett and Company, one of the largest wine producers in the US from 1867 to 1962. While there were operations all over the US, the Garretts called the vineyards on Bluff Point home each summer from 1917 to 1940.
The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the last significant remnant of Garrett and Company, its use of a number of novel building materials and techniques, and for the extensive collection of unique stained glass windows, including the last windows ever made by the distinguished artist Frederick Wilson, Today the Chapel is used for summer services and makes a beautiful setting for...

Nature has always played a significant role in my life. On walks with my dad when I was a child, I was taught to notice the world around me and appreciate the wonder of nature and all of God's creation. To this day, being out in nature is balm for my soul and necessary for my well-being.
