Fringed Polygala (Polygala paucifolia) is a low-growing wildflower that produces pinkish purple orchid-like flowers from spring to early summer. The flaring wings and propeller-like fringe on the flower's tip give it the appearance of a small magenta airplane. These flowers grow, often in colonies, in conifer forests of the eastern half of the United States and Canada,
