Artist's Description
Near Elverson, Pennsylvania is Hopewell Furnace, a restored iron plantation village. This plantation was in operation from 1771-1883 and produced iron needed for the Revolutionary War. The ironmaster of the operation lived in this on-site house. This house is open to the public and is furnished as it may have looked back in the early 1800's.
