Description
Ludlowville Falls located along Salmon Creek is easily accessed through the town park in the village of Ludlowville, near Lansing, New York. This multi-plume cascade plunges 35 feet down from a 12-foot thick limestone caprock ledge, over a large cave into a deep pool below. The soft shale underneath the caprock has eroded away, creating the overhang cave and deep plunge pool. This falls powered the early settlement of Ludlowville, named for the pioneer family that built a gristmill here in 1795.
