Description
Beautiful Pfeiffer Beach is hidden on an isolated stretch of Route 1 in the heart of Big Sur, California. Twisty, narrow, and unmarked Sycamore Canyon Road turns sharply off of Route 1 and travels 2 miles to a parking area with a short walk to the beach. At the entrance to the beach, yellow Lupine wildflowers are in bloom where Sycamore Canyon Creek empties into the Pacific Ocean. A rocky point protects some of the sand at the cove, making a perfect spot to relax on the beach and explore the tidal pools and flowing creek. Further down the beach are more rock formations and amazing keyhole arches which makes this a popular photography spot at sunset. Even though Pfieffer Beach is hard to find, it is well worth the effort to find this hidden gem of a beach!
