Description
John Ford's Point is named after a Hollywood director who used Monument Valley as the location for a number of his best-known films, many starring John Wayne, and which helped define what decades of moviegoers think of when they imagine the American West. Horses and riders are usually stationed at this location so that, for a fee, visitors can recreate the iconic image of a lone rider on a horse standing at the edge of the viewpoint. This horse is taking an eating break from his photo shoot sessions.
