Description
Skaneateles Lake, one of the Finger Lakes in central New York, is a beautiful and serene lake with water so pure it is used unfiltered by the city of Syracuse and surrounding areas. The quaint village of Skaneateles at the north end of the lake is the departure point for various cruise boats that ply along the shores of this 16 mile long lake with an average width of 3/4 of a mile. Many landmarks, lovely homes, and beautiful scenery can be viewed from cruise boats such as the Judge Ben Wiles. Though this boat was built in 1986 and is run by a diesel engine, it was designed to look like the old steamers that used to ply the waters of the lake.
