Description
Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge is located near the town of Rock Hall, Maryland along the Chesapeake Bay. Established in 1962 as a sanctuary for migratory birds, the Refuge provides natural habitat for over 240 bird species, including bald eagles and transitory peregrine falcons, and is a major staging site for tundra swans. This boardwalk, called the Tundra Swan Boardwalk, leads across the marshland to an "island" where there are several viewing platforms. A bit of the Chesapeake Bay is visible on the right and rain showers can be viewed over the Bay in the distance.
