Description
Cannon Beach along the Oregon coast of the USA is famous for its interesting offshore sea stacks. Just south of Haystack Rock, the largest and best known of the rock formations, are two rocky spires known as “The Needles.” Haystack Rock and The Needles igneous rock formations are part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge and the area is a State protected marine environment. At low tide, visitors are encouraged to responsibly explore this exceptional natural area to view the intertidal marine life in the exposed tidepools, including starfish and sea anemones. The rocks are also nesting sites for many sea birds.
