Near the town of Tan Chau, Vietnam, this colorful barge is one of many boats that cruise along the Mekong River. The Mekong River provides a vital passenger and trade transportation link not just between communities but also between the countries the river flows through. Barges are frequently seen in this section of the river, transporting sand that was dredged from the river bottom.
About Carolyn Derstine
Nature has always played a significant role in my life. On walks with my dad when I was a child, I was taught to notice the world around me and appreciate the wonder of nature and all of God's creation. To this day, being out in nature is balm for my soul and necessary for my well-being.
