The John Davis House is located in the Mountain Farm Museum, situated just inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina. The museum features a collection of southern Appalachian farm buildings assembled from different locations throughout the Park. Most of the structures were built in the late 19th century and were moved here in the 1950s. The Davis House offers a rare chance to view a log house built from chestnut wood before the chestnut blight decimated the American Chestnut the forests during the 1930s and early 1940s.

Nature has always played a significant role in my life. On walks with my dad when I was a child, I was taught to notice the world around me and appreciate the wonder of nature and all of God's creation. To this day, being out in nature is balm for my soul and necessary for my well-being. When I took up photography, I suddenly had a way to express my joy in nature by preserving the wonder I see, and then being able to share it with others.
