Artist's Description

Manarola is one of the five picturesque cliffside villages in the Cinque Terre region of Italy. It is the second-smallest of the famous Cinque Terre towns and may be the oldest of the towns in the Cinque Terre, with the cornerstone of the church, San Lorenzo, dating from 1338. Built on a high rock 70 meters above sea level, it is also one of the most charming and romantic of the Cinque Terre villages with picturesque multi-colored houses built along the hillsides and steep narrow alleys leading to the sea. The tiny harbor features a boat ramp and provides access to some of the best deep-water swimming around even though there is no real beach here. Various trails provide stunning views looking back at this quaint village.

Nature has always played a significant role in my life. On walks with my dad when I was a child, I was taught to notice the world around me and appreciate the wonder of nature and all of God's creation. To this day, being out in nature is balm for my soul and necessary for my well-being.
