On a calm but cloudy day, this scene was spotted while driving in the countryside of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada. Life on the water and churches are such an important part of the fabric of life for persons in coastal Nova Scotia. Where there is a village around an inlet, there is also a church, making this a classic scene for this region.

Nature has always played a significant role in my life. On walks with my dad when I was a child, I was taught to notice the world around me and appreciate the wonder of nature and all of God's creation. To this day, being out in nature is balm for my soul and necessary for my well-being. When I took up photography, I suddenly had a way to express my joy in nature by preserving the wonder I see, and then being able to share it with others.
