Varenna, a fishing village which dates from the eleventh century, is a jewel among the many tourist destinations on Lake Como in Italy. Varenna has kept its noble and characteristic flair and strolling through its alleyways and along lakeside paths, you can catch glimpses of breathtaking views. This overview of the village from a flower-lined terrace offers views of the tiny harbor, lakefront restaurants, the colorful buildings, and the snow-covered Alps in the distance. To the left of the buildings is a passerella (a walking promenade) that links the old town to the new part of town where ferry boats dock to provide transport to other beautiful towns along Lake Como.
Nature has always played a significant role in my life. On walks with my dad when I was a child, I was taught to notice the world around me and appreciate the wonder of nature and all of God's creation. To this day, being out in nature is balm for my soul and necessary for my well-being. When I took up photography, I suddenly had a way to express my joy in nature by preserving the wonder I see, and then being able to share it with others.
