Description
Letchworth State Park in New York State is comprised of 14,350 acres along the Genesee River, just 35 miles south of Rochester, New York. The walls of the Genesee Gorge, the river winding below, several majestic waterfalls, and the lush forest all around make this Park one of the most notable examples of waterfall and gorge scenery in the eastern United States. It is often called the "Grand Canyon of the East" and was voted best state park in the USA in 2015 by USA TODAY Reader's Choice Award. This view is looking upriver to the Middle Falls and the Upper Falls in the distance. The old railroad trestle bridge is barely visible but an iconic part of the scenery at the Upper Falls. It is currently undergoing repair, limiting visitor access to the Upper Falls.
