Description
Most of the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park is empty desert, crossed only by a few dry washes and sandy tracks leading to Navajo settlements. However, this part of Monument Valley is one of the most impressive large-scale landscapes anywhere in the Southwest with its many majestic rock formations rising up from the desert. Valley Drive, a 17 mile unpaved dirt road, that winds through Monument Valley, allows visitors closer access, and different views, of many of these rock formations.
