Description
As one of the great libraries of the world, the Old Library at Trinity College in Dublin is one of Ireland's iconic treasures. The main chamber of the Old Library is the Long Room that was built between 1712 and 1732, with the beautiful barrel-vaulted ceiling added later in 1860 to allow space for more works when the existing shelves became full. The nearly 200 foot Long Room is filled with over 200,000 of the Library's oldest books and is one of the most impressive libraries in the world.
