Artist's Description

Historic Cold Spring Village, located in Cape May County, New Jersey, is an Early-American open-air living history museum that brings to life the day-to-day activities of villagers living in South Jersey during the "age of homespun." (1789-1840) This woodworking shop is one of 26 restored historic buildings on the 30 acre site. We stopped in to visit the village before it was officially open for the season, and just after a flooding rain had hit this area. The "pond" is actually a flooded lawn area.

Nature has always played a significant role in my life. On walks with my dad when I was a child, I was taught to notice the world around me and appreciate the wonder of nature and all of God's creation. To this day, being out in nature is balm for my soul and necessary for my well-being. When I took up photography, I suddenly had a way to express my joy in nature by preserving the wonder I see, and then being able to share it with others.
