Description
The Royal Palace compound in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is a 1866 palace complex of many richly ornamented Khmer architecture style buildings that serves as the royal residence of the king of Cambodia. This beautifully landscaped compound in the center of Phnom Penh, covers an area of 174,870 square meters. The Phochani Pavilion in the foreground is an open hall which was originally constructed in 1912 as a classical dance theater but currently is being used for Royal receptions and meetings. A royal stupa and the Silver Pagoda building are visible in the background as well as the modern urban skyline of Phnom Penh.
